Meta adds Stripe CEO Patrick Collison and Dina Powell McCormick to its board
Meta has appointed two new members to its board of directors: Stripe CEO Patrick Collison and banking executive as well as former presidential advisor Dina Powell McCormick, as reported by Axios.
Powell McCormick brings 16 years of experience from various key positions at Goldman Sachs, and also served as Deputy National Security Advisor under President Donald Trump’s administration. Meanwhile, Collison co-founded fintech company Stripe with his brother, John, in 2010. Stripe reached a valuation of $91.5 billion earlier this year.
This move is seen as part of Meta’s strategy to strengthen its board by bringing in influential figures from the global business world. It is also viewed as an effort by Meta to build stronger ties with the Trump administration ahead of an upcoming antitrust trial starting Monday.
Collison had previously been involved in Meta’s advisory group, while Powell McCormick is a new face at the company. Both will officially begin their roles on April 15.
