Apple Reportedly Developing a New Version of the Health App with an AI Coach Feature

Apple is reportedly revamping its Health app by introducing a new AI-powered feature. This feature will act as a personal coach, providing users with advice on how to improve their health and fitness. The information was first reported by technology journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.

Gurman initially mentioned this project back in 2023 when it was still in its early development stages. However, according to his latest report, Apple is now making significant progress on the feature, with a possible launch expected around the spring or summer of 2026. The new feature is anticipated to be released alongside Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 19.4.

The AI coach being developed by Apple will utilize data collected from various medical devices used by users. This approach will enable the system to provide more personalized and accurate recommendations based on an individual’s health condition. One of the features reportedly included in this update is food tracking, allowing users to monitor their eating habits more effectively.

Currently, the AI technology for this feature is still in the training phase. Apple is said to be using data from its in-house medical staff to refine the AI coach’s capabilities. Additionally, the company plans to recruit more medical professionals to record various educational health-related videos that will be available to users of the app.

According to Gurman’s report, this AI-driven health service is tentatively named Health+. If development progresses smoothly, this feature could become one of Apple’s most significant innovations in digital health, further solidifying its position as a leader in integrating technology with a healthy lifestyle.
